Hunter Education Courses
Taught by California Department of Fish & Wildlife Certified Instructors.
Students are instructed in firearm safety, sportsmanship, and firearm handling and operation.
Students age of 10 years or older is based on the written test level.
Students must pass a written test at 80% and a practical handling and live fire section.
Each course consists of 2 sessions:
Tuesday 5:00 pm — 10:00 pm
Saturday 7:00 am — 12:00 pm
You must register for the class with the California Department of Fish & Wildlife at Hunter Education Registration. Then choose ‘California Traditional Hunter Education’.
The Hunter Education class meets at the Santa Lucia Sportsmen’s Gun Club. Located at 10400 Santa Clara Road in Atascadero.
Students must attend both sessions for certification. Manuals will be supplied during the first meeting.
Payment of $12.00 to the SLSA Gun Club will be collected at that time.
