How to Join

Our next New Member Orientation is scheduled for

Saturday, January 21, 2023 — 9:00 – 10:30 am

To join SLSA and register for the next Orientation contact:

Membership is open to any adult citizen of the United States who can legally own or possess a firearm in the State of California, and can provide a document showing proof of live fire training.

California Hunting License
(NEW licenses issued during the Covid pandemic are not accepted)
Hunter Safety Certificate (Must Include Live Fire Class)
Proof of Military Training
NRA Training Certificate
Law Enforcement or Security Firearm Training
Private Industry Certification of Firearms Training
CCW permit
DOJ Instructor Card
California Department of Fish & Game Instructor Card
NRA Instructor Card
Women on Target Certificate
GALS Clinic Certificate


Prospective members may join SLSA by submitting a qualifying live fire document listed above, and a Membership Application.

If you do not have any live fire experience, we will have a New Shooters Course following the New Member Orientation. We can also put you in touch with a qualified firearms instructor.

Annual Membership

Regular — $165.00
Seniors (65+) and Students — $115.00
Membership runs one full year from the date of your Orientation.

An additional $100.00 initiation fee and a non-refundable gate card fee of $15.00 is required for all New Members.

We accept payment by
Credit Card (PayPal) or Personal Check.

You must also be a current member of the NRA
and/or the California Rifle and Pistol Association.
